Hello 🙂
In XA control settings for a Voice Element, I can set it to normal, ..., random and wavecycle. Is it possible to activate wavecycle elements by pressing AF1/2? As an example I have 3 elements 1,2,3. XA in 1 is set to normal and for 2 and 3 it's set to wave cycle. I want to turn element 1 off and turn 2 and 3 on by pushing the AF button.

With XA CONTROL you can set it to the following: normal, legato, key off sound, wave cycle, wave random, all AF off, AF 1 on, AF 2 on.
_ If you want to turn On or Off an Element you have XA CONTROL settings to do so.

You can certainly "turn element 1 off and turn 2 and 3 on by pushing the AF button" but an element can have only one setting for XA CONTROL. This does not prevent you from controlling whether elements 2 and 3 are sounding or not. You can leave them set to XA CONTROL = "wave cycle", but use the Control Set to control the output level of those "wave cycle" Elements.

You could program the AF1 button to activate and deactivate element 1; you do so by setting XA CONTROL = "all AF off"
Leave Elements 2 and 3 set to XA CONTROL = "wave cycle"
Program Elements 2 and 3 so Element Level is biased to the [AF1] button. This is done within the AMP of the Element and within a Control Set;
You can do so by first setting the Element Level = 0 on the Amplifier > Level/Pan screen, this means they initially start with zero output. Then within the (COMMON) CONTROL SET set the SOURCE = AF1, DESTINATION = E-Level, DEPTH = +32, check Element Switches 2 and 3 (clear Element 1)

This way pressing [AF1] will simultaneously turn element 1 off and set element 2 and 3 to full output while they are still set to "wave cycle".

This works well to accomplish your goal. Hope that helps.

Thanks this is exactly what I want to do. I have 2 more questions I know it sounds too many questions I read the ref manual and there is not much I can find about it. Is it possible to play the wavecycle-ed elements right after pressing AF? Lets say if I play a part that starts with C3 with AF1 off element 1 is played and as soon as I press AF1 elements 2 and 3 get played automatically I looked into a preset Voice Roundabout but it uses Arps (if I'm not mistaken). Also Is it going to affect the polyphony compared to when an element is off?
