In the File Management menu, the commands Format, Rename, Save etc. always show the message "Connect to USB Device", although a USB stick is already connected to the CP.
I have already tried several USB sticks, from different companies and with different formatting, which are also recognized on a Windows PC, but without success.
It is interesting, however, that an OS update (1.41) was possible via a USB stick.
In the meantime I even performed a factory reset on the CP, but that was also unsuccessful!
Does anyone have any advice for me?
Maybe consult the list and only use one that has been qualified.

I don't do this myself - I've been "lucky" using sticks from manufacturers/models not on the list.
However, I also make it a point to only purchase USB 2.0 and also the smallest size I can find (2GB if possible). I also stay away from sticks that come bundled with software because most of these use multiple partitions that confuse Yamaha gear. If you do have such a stick, you would need to do more than format an existing partition. You would need to wipe the entire stick (including removing all partitions). Then repartition with a single FAT partition. I may go even as far as formatting as a FAT16 2GB max size partition even if the stick is larger than 2GB (and keep rest of the unpartitioned space as unused).
Many thanks to JASON for the quick and detailed advice, 😀 it definitely helps! 🙂
