I have my non-tremolo/vibrato saxophone voice working now.

I'm using the ribbon to control tremolo via C-LFO Depth and the Mod Wheel to control growl via E-LFO Depth. I have the ribbon set to hold mode (as opposed to reset mode).

It works just fine in Voice mode. But when I use my saxophone voice in a Pattern, the ribbon acts like it's been set to reset mode, despite how the ribbon is set in the Voice.

Is there a way to make the ribbon work in hold mode in a Pattern or Song?

Yes, of course.

Press [MIXING]
Press [EDIT]
Press [COMMON EDIT]
Press [F1] GENERAL
Press [SF4] OTHER
Here you will find the RIBBON MODE parameter.

Explanation
In VOICE mode there is only one instrument you are dealing with, so what the Ribbon is set to is exclusive to the one instrument. When you place a Voice in a PART (PARTs are found in PERFORMANCE (where there are 4), and SONG/PATTERN MIXING (where there are 16)), naturally the Ribbon (there is only 1) cannot automatically reflect the condition of any one Voice from VOICE mode. The Ribbon Mode setting is shared ("is common") to all Parts. Some Voices back in the VOICE mode will undoubtedly be set to Reset, and some will be set to Hold. There cannot be four or sixteen different settings, there is only one Ribbon... Your one Voice, in whatever PART, will not determine the setting of this parameter for all Parts. You must make the setting and all Parts will share its condition. That's why it is a COMMON EDIT parameter.

You do have the option, per Part, as to whether the Voice will respond, or not respond, to the Controller. This "Part Edit" parameter is the RCV SWITCH ( Receive Switch). [EDIT] > press the number [1]-[16] to select the PART > press [F6] RCV SWITCH.

Once you've set RIBBON MODE for the MIXING, make sure your individual Part's Receive Switch has the Ribbon Controller's box checked. Press [STORE].
