Now I know some of you will shake your heads, however I do have this question. Is it possible to produce a Rhythm guitar strumming pattern so that when I play the chord I want and hold it down the guitar will strum following a strumming patter I determine? If so, could someone put up a link for me to learn more?
Appreciate your help as always.

This is done by using arpeggios. There are a number of guitar oriented arpeggios that have different strumming patterns. You can see if any match what you're looking for. If there's one not close enough to your liking then you'll need to create your own user arpeggio.

Alternatively, some library may have an arpeggio closer to your liking. It would take some time and possibly expense to learn if any of these would be useful.

Finally, built-in arpeggios have several ways to modify the arpeggio pattern (note lengths, swing, etc). So perhaps even if "out of the box" an arpeggio doesn't do what you want - some setting adjustments may be able to get close enough.

Thanks for the reply J. I'm not sure exactly where to start with arpeggios. I'm sure there must be a link for a newbie like me?

This walks you through assigning arpeggios to a Part. When you get to the Arpeggio Category Search screen - I would change the category to "guitar" so you get just those arpeggios that are targeting guitars.

Creating your own arpeggio is more advanced. There are tutorials to get you started if that's the route you want to take.

... not specifically arpeggio - but covers it more generally (search for arpeggio)

This article mentioned the 10,000+ arpeggio count. There's a lot of what they would call inspiration material inside the box already. Using the search categories (and sub categories) is the easiest way to narrow the field down to a more manageable set to listen to.

More recently there was a tech talk series covering arpeggios:

https://www.yamahasynth.com/learn/events/tech-talk-modx-arpeggios-part-i
https://www.yamahasynth.com/learn/events/tech-talk-arpeggios-ii
https://www.yamahasynth.com/learn/events/tech-talk-arpeggios-part-iii

With respect to arpeggios, if you see "Montage" or "MODX" or "MODX+" as the primary keyboard described then these are all functionally "identical" with respect to arpeggios so you need not worry about using the "wrong" video.

To do this, you will need to purchase a Rhythm guitar and a strumming pedal. The Rhythm guitar will need to be tuned to the same pitch as the chord you want to strum, and the strumming pedal will need to be connected to the guitar's output. The strumming pattern will need to be determined, and the pedal will need to be set to the strumming mode.
