Hello MOXF users,

I received the yellow "activation code for plug-in software"-sheet with my recently (Dec 2015) purchased MOXF8.
The sheet states "http://www.yamahasynth.com/downloads/" as URL to get the Steinberg Prologue.

However on that page I can't find any downloads...at all. 🙁

Does anyone know what happened to Prologue?

In Cubase AI8 (also offered with the synth) it isn't included. I checked the VST instruments, but there's only HALION Sonic SE listed.
Even on the STEINBERG site, you cannot find it.

Regards,
Freddy_lu

Sorry for any confusion. You want to go to the Official Yamaha download site for all downloadable Yamaha software/firmware, etc:
http://download.yamaha.com

This includes the YSUSB Driver, the MOXF Editors, Tools, Manuals, Data Content.

The Steinberg plugin, Prologue, is inside Cubase... No longer a download
You will want to check again for Prologue, which is installed when you install Cubase AI8. (Make sure you select AI8)
And that you have installed the eLicenser software.

Go to RACK INSTRUMENTS on the main Cubase screen, Prologue can be launched from there.

If you still cannot find it please provide info on your computer (type: Mac or PC), operating system, and a screenshot of the Rack Instrument options... If you can.
Do you see the MOXF VST listed?

Let us know, we'll help you get up and running, if we can.

It should also be noted that Prologue gets enabled in Cubase via an additional activation code that must be entered in the eLicencer. That is what makes it available for selection as a VST.

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much, Bad Mister and Dennis!!!!

You were both right, but especially Dennis had the key to the Lonely Mountain!!!:
After entering the code into eLicencer and downloading the licence, everything went PERFETTO !!!!
PROLOGUE appeared in the list of VSTis, after clicking its GUI showed up and I felt a lot less stupid than before!

I appreciate very much your help! You are both my heroes! YOU ROCK!

😀

Hello everyone,

I know this is an old post, but I have just purchased a used MOXF6 and for the life of me I can't seem to find the download location for Cubase AI 8.

The original owner of the keyboard has never registered/used his MOXF with a computer.
Here's what I did:

1. Downloaded the eLicenser Control Center
2. Entered Activation Code from the yellow leaflet that came with the keyboard
3. Entered the soft eLicense code into my steinberg account
4. No download links. Under my products, it just says that I have a Prologue activated, but no downloads. See attached image

I've read Bad Mister's answer above, but it's still not clear to me how I should proceed. ( download Cubase Pro or Cubase Elements Trial versions? there's no AI version, just the Pro, Elements and Artist version)

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks.

The yellow sheet contains Activation Codes for Steinberg Prologue (an analog synth VSTi), and Yamaha YC-3B (a tone wheel organ VSTi); not for Cubase AI.

The white sheet labeled "STOP: Cubase AI DOWNLOAD INFORMATION" contains your Download Access Code for Cubase.
It instructs you to go to: www.steinberg.net/getcubaseai

That's when you'll need the Access Code found on the bottom of the white sheet.

Ughh.. I somehow missed the white sheet. Found it and everything seems to be working now.

Thanks a lot 🙂

Have a great day,

In the interest of updates ... As of 1/22/2017 this solution still works. I bought a blue MX49 two weeks ago. Went online, noticed the given URL was no longer valid, figured out the new one, downloaded Cubase LE AI Elements 9.
Note: It was not clear to me before purchase (on packaging or marketing materials) that it was an "LE" version but ... it's fine. Seems to have all the functionality I need.
Anyway. I managed to find the user manuals and plugin downloads fine. Downloaded them, installed but the Prologue kicked back an error saying I could not install it because I did not have Cubase 5 ... that is when I did a search and found this forum thread. Guess what? I downloaded the eLicenser Control Center from Steinberg's website, entered the Prologue activation code (and the YC-3B code) and everything appears to be working perfectly. Felt like a lot of hoops, but considering it's free software, can't complain?

Regarding the MX49 ... used on a gig, sounded amazing. Piano tones will never sound like a real acoustic but these are still pretty amazing. Synth doesn't hold a candle to what my Minimoog Voyager can do, but it does rival the Moog Mother 32. Considering the circumstances (number of oscillators and tweakable features) it is a truly great synth. We did a Pink Floyd song and I had NO trouble covering the parts - even the breathy white noise stuff. The best part is that because of post-holiday discounts and age factor I was able to grab it for under $430 shipped (I think original street was $750).

Cheers

You can, if you read the installation instructions closely, select Cubase AI (more features that LE) from the Cubase LE AI Elements 9 install. Highly recommended.
