Note "choking" upon note-off event

On some of the Rhodes sounds on the Montage, there seems to be a "popping", "choking" or "hiccuping" of the sound upon the release of a note. For example, on the "Vintage '74" Rhodes on the Yamaha ES-8, you don't hear this phenomena. The sound is consistent from Note On to Note Off. However, on the Montage you do hear it and it's driving me bananas!! I tried comparing the parameters from both synths (I own BOTH) to see where the differences were, but I've had no luck. Can you offer any suggestions to eliminate this?? Thanks loads!! Oh, and just for the record, I STILL love my Montage!!!

There are two reasons for this: element 5 has a note off sound which creates something like what you describe. Also the release time of the filter envelope is 0 on elements 1-4. If you set this to a very high value and switch off element 5 it goes away.

I think the note off sound is intended but fortunately it is easy to fix if you do not like it. So you are very right to STILL love your Montage :D.
