No MIDI THRU on YC-Series?

Dear community,
I want to connect two synths (YC61 and a Moog Sub 37) to the MIDI IN on my audio interface, to control some VSTs.

this one works: YC61 Midi-out --> Sub37 Midi-in, and Sub37 Midi-out --> Audio interface Midi-in

this one does not work: Sub37 Midi-out --> YC61 Midi-in, and YC61 Midi-out --> Audio interface Midi-in

Does this mean that the YC61 cannot do Midi Thru? Or do I need to configure something on the YC?

Thank you!!

PS: it is an issue for me, since I also want to have my iPad output MIDI to both synths ... and I hope to do this via MIDI DIN, NOT USB, since I want to avoid using a USB Hub.

I have a similar application:
CP4
YC61
Waldorf Blofeld
TC Helicon VoiceLive 3 Extreme
XR18 digital mixer
KMI Softstep foot controller

All talking to an iPad. Almost all of them talking to each other (CP4 controlling YC61 and Blofeld, YC61 controlling Blofeld, YC61 controlling CP4, CP4 and YC61 sending MIDI chord data to VL3X, Softstep controlling everything including the XR18 directly and via an iPad app).

I settled on using a product called the iConnectivity MioXM, which is an incredible hardware MIDI “router” with multiple MIDI DIN and USB connectors, as well as an Ethernet connector (for MIDI RTP). It supports any routing scheme and can filter the forwarded MIDI messages in hardware.

It’s so fast I can’t detect any latency at all (playing acoustic piano sounds with any kind of delay drives me bats). I can’t say enough good about MioXM and the support I’ve received.

I also don’t want to use a USB hub. I want the opto-isolation that DIN (supposedly) delivers.
