Over the past 5 years on and off I've been trying to get my MOXF6 to work with the free Cubase AI7 that came with it. It seems to connect with the cable directly to USB on my Windows 7 laptop. I can see the level on Cubase when I play the MOXF. Problem is I don't have audio out. I realize this has been a big problem as I've watched many videos about it. None of those have helped. I've gone thru the Cubase literature and set it up according to directions but I'm obviously missing something. Using the Cubase low latency driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Screenshots attached.

First reason you have consistently had issues is you need to download, install and select the proper Driver.

“Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver” for Windows.

Your first screenshot show the wrong Driver - without the proper Driver you will struggle unnecessarily.

Find the Driver here:

Bad Mister, thanks much for your help here. Here is the problem I'm having: BTW I now have the correct driver installed and selected (see screenshot). But when I go to VST Connections Input tab I cannot add and select the driver. In the Not Connected area I can click and see the driver listed but when I click on it nothing happens. It just stays Not Connected. (screenshot)

Ok, evidently the VST Connections tab has nothing to do with not hearing the output. I changed the input on the track I was trying to record to Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth, now I hear the MOXF! WTH! But notice there is a delay between playing and hearing it on the laptop. I'm suspecting I still don't have something set properly in Cubase.

Again, you must select Yamaha Steinberg USB as your ASIO driver.
You need to bring the MOXF Editor which in your screenshots is open but not “Online”. Even though your shot (inconveniently) covers the “Online/Offline” box, your Editor is not actively ONLINE... the MOXF Editor is between the the Track Inspector’s MIDI Out, and everything else. Signal will travel from the Track Inspector’s MIDI OUT and the “Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8 Editor VST—Midi In”.

If you are using the VST Editor, then MIDI and Audio connections will be made in the EDITOR (go to File on the Editor’s menu and find the “Setup” and “VSTi Setup” screens to configure your MIDI and audio setups.

The Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth is NOT your MOXF.
