I have my MotifXF6 hooked up to the PC (W10) via firewire. It writes to Cubase and plays back OK via the Motif analogue out but I'd like to play and monitor via optical out from the PC to my main speaker system. I can't see how to access the Firewire audio out and redirect it to the PC system so that for instance, I can play the keyboard without recording. Perhaps it is impossible. Any suggestions?

The driver (Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver) is designed to output audio to the analog Outputs of the Motif XF, and bypass the computer’s own sound system. The computer’s built-in sound system is not capable of the low latency operation necessary to handle record/overdub/playback duties necessary for music production.
You can, of course, playback through your computer system, but playback only.
