Note that this is a bit of a sampler pack of existing more complete sound libraries. So if you like the "taste" given by these performances - consider purchasing the full versions represented to get even more great content.

I would like to give an additional information about the MONTAGE Expanded library.

As Jason stated the first 64 performances are extracted from existing EASY SOUNDS sound libraries for MONTAGE - including about 180 MB samples!

The next 64 performances are programmed completely new by Hans-Peter Henkel ("HaPe"). You find them assigned to the first 64 Live Sets.
It is the highlight of this Promotion library.

128 more Performances are the DX Collection, which is a best of selection of original DX7 voices collected by Yamaha Music Europe decades ago.
They are improved for using with MONTAGE.

Please find more informations in the latest edition of the Yamaha Music Production Guide.

yHello - agreed with Jason that many sounds in the 'Expanded' library are taken from other libraries - the only 'new' sounds are those by HaPe (I do like that acronym!) and listed in Live Sets (but I only have 1 page of 16 - not 4 pages for 64??), but there are improvements elsewhere. A couple of failures (one being 'Dark Chaos' unless it is meant to be silence!), but a few others are alone worth the entire download. Very happy that it arrived on the scene - some of the work is inspiring!

Rod,
When you load the "MONTAGE Expanded"
Press [LIVE SET]
Use the [BANK Down] button to view "MONTAGE E---" Bank
(Or if you loaded it as USER, Bank down to "User")

Notice how above the [LIVE SET] button written with a white background for the font; it is connected by a white line to the words "SELECT" and "PAGE" under the grid of 32 buttons... Dividing the grid of 32 buttons into halves.
The 16 buttons on the left half glow and represent the grid of 16 titles you see in the screen. SELECT
Press the first one to select "CFX Grand & Soft EPX" notice how it corresponds to what's in the screen. Move through the 16 selections on this PAGE using the first four buttons in each row.

Now when you reach the "The FM Guitarist" by either touching the box in the lower right corner of the screen or by touching the fourth button in row four of the SELECT area, notice how the lighted button corresponds to the selection in the screen.

The PAGE half of the screen indicates you are on PAGE 1 "Cool Webinars MC 1"
Select PAGE 2, you can do so by incrementing ([INC/YES]) from "The FM Guitarist" or selecting PAGE 2 via the second button on the right half of the screen (top row). The right half buttons are your PAGES.

You should have sixteen PAGES each of the PAGES has sixteen Live Set Performance selections.

Try playing "Dark Chaos" again, you may have to be patient - you can't hurry through when auditioning sounds, take your time. It has a slow attack and as you can see (if you navigate to the HOME screen) the programmer left "AEG RELEASE" as the sole named assignment so that you can make the sound exit as slowly as it comes in. It comes in within the first two seconds so you must have been in a big hurry.

And, btw, all the sounds are "new" if they are new to you!
