I contacted support by phone a month or so ago to see if I could get Montage Connect to work with my Montage 8 and Macbook Pro running BigSur. They said the issue was that the Montage connect driver v 1.1.0 was not compatible with BIg Sur and that a new driver would be released soon. Is there any info as to when this will occur?

? ? ? The Macintosh Big Sur (OS 11) Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver for Big Sur was released back in April (April 22, 2021 to be exact).

Official Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver for Macintosh OS11

I’m not at all sure that the USB Driver is the issue.
It is much more likely, if it is not running, a newer version of MONTAGE CONNECT is what you are waiting for… I don’t have a new Mac so I can’t test this, I’ll see what I can find out, and let you know.

FYI: MONTAGE CONNECT is a VST/AU Plugin (not a driver).
Yamaha Steinberg Driver USB version 3.0.5 for Mac OS 11 is the driver — and like in a car, there can be only one driver!

When you attempt to launch MONTAGE CONNECT, if a new version is required the program should report a “firmware” error of some kind…click on SETUP and attempt to bring it ONLINE.
Do you receive such a message?

If you have the YSUSB Driver v3.0.5 (referenced above) your MONTAGE CONNECT should work.
Please let us know.

I'm having the same issue. I have the Yamaha Steinberg Driver and the Montage is recognized in the Audio/Midi app. However, Montage Connect remains offline and under 'Setup" it lists "No Version". It does not recognize the Montage at all. I had no problem before updating to Big Sur (2017 iMac).

I've got Big Sur and what I see is, correctly, the firmware is the wrong version for the supported version of Connect I'm using. Also a Montage user here - so all of that checks out. My assumption was if I updated the Montage firmware - it'd all fall into place. I should do this (upgrade Montage) at some point and with the pitch bend fix now in place (for some time) - maybe it's a good time to update and see.

I'm running the Yamaha Steinburg USB Driver V3.1.1

I can confirm that Montage Connect does not work with Big Sur, though the drivers etc all work fine. I have the latest OS on my Montage

I seem to recall a post from Blake a few months ago saying they were aware of it and should have a fix soon. Still waiting patiently ...
