Here is the scenario on my new XF

I have maxed it out to 2x 2GB (Mutec Flash boards of 2GB capacity each)

I have also bought 2 voice libraries from Digital Sound Factory namely

1. Motif Vocal Xpressions (400 MB) - 127 Patches
2. Motif World Xpedition (470 MB) - 127 Patches

I would like to load both on to FL1 and in User Banks 3 & 4

Question is can advice me in detail (I am noob) how to do this so that I need these 2 libraries for ever on User Banks 3 & 4.

Thanks in advance

Information about which USER BANK contains the DSF data is critical. Please see the documentation that accompanied the Files.

You'll want to use the the LOAD TYPE = 1Bank Voice
This will allow you direct the USER Bank containing the data you want to the internal User Bank you wish to have it reside.

Once loaded, SAVE an ALL DATA File ('with Sample') to backup your new custom setup.

Thanks.. because of the confusion I formatted my flash and the banks restored t factory condition. Now it is clean w/o any samples

All I need is to have these 2 libraries in bank 1 & 2 through flash board FL1 so that I can use them anytime with out loading

Please guide me through from this scenario from scratch..:(

We cannot give you a guide through it without the information provided in the library's documentation. The 127 Voices are in a particular file folder. If you provide that info, we will provide the instructions from scratch!

I have pasted the data from the documentation came with the libraries for your info. I only have this 🙁

And that is all I needed. Thank you.

So that you understand: The XF has four normal USER Banks and one drum USER Bank, the file created by the author is targeting a specific single Bank when you load it as an ALL file (.X3A). "ALL" technically means that if you use this file TYPE to load the file, your Motif XF will look exactly like the original author's Motif XF when they saved the file. All overwrites all data in the target synth.

This is NOT what you want. You stated you want to load one of these in USER 3 of your XF, and the other into USER 4 of your XF.

So therefore you need to load these so that you are redirecting data in the file's USER 1 folder to your XF's USER 3 Bank.
Then you'll take the second file and direct its data from the file's USER 1 folder and direct it your XF's USER 4 Bank.

Place the USB stick with "Digital_Sound_Factory_Motif_Vocal_Xpressions.X3A" on it in the "To Device" slot
Press [FILE]
Set the File TYPE = 1 Bank Voice
Move the Cursor into the Directory area, and use the DATA DIAL to highlight the file by name
Press [ENTER] to "open" the file and view its contents.

In the file you will see the five folders I mentioned. These represent the author's Motif XF at the time they created the file.
As you've just told me, the data you want is hidden inside the USER 1 folder.

Highlight the USER 1 folder

Next we will setup the Load Options in the lower right corner of this screen... Using the RIGHT CURSOR arrow move to the lower right side Options
Set them as follows.

USR > USR
FL1 > FL1
FL2 > FL2

Move the cursor to the Left to set the *TARGET* Bank in your internal XF = Bank 3

review your screen. You are set to load from the file Directory USER 1 > 1Bank Of Voices > to your USER 3 and the authors Flash Board 1 is going to your Flash Board 1

Press [SF2] LOAD
Go make a cup of coffee and enjoy while the XF installs the Waveform and Samples to your Flash board and loads the USER 1 Bank Voices to your User 3 Bank. While it does this it automatically updates each and every Voice so that it know exactly where on your Flash Board the Waveforms and Samples are located for your Motif XF (which is now very different from the author's XF)

Rinse and repeat for the other file except direct it to your USER 4.

Have another cup of coffee.... Once everything is loaded test out by going through USER 3 and 4 playing those sounds.

Just one more thing to do. VERY IMPORTANT - once you have verified that all is as it should be, make a new ALL data File - name it something that you'll recognize as this data "DSF-Vocals & Performer" set the SAVE OPTIONS on the lower left side of the screen so that FL1 saves "with samples"

This becomes YOUR backup file. Do not use the originals ever again, use only your backup file from now on. Only files created on YOUR Motif XF will have YOUR Motif XF's Waveform List. This Waveform List is unique to your XF.

And from now on when you load data from these files you do so "without sample" - the samples will remain until you DELETE or FORMAT the Flash Board. So loading will be very quick.

And from now on when you create a file it will always include YOUR custom Waveform List. The Waveform List is very small and takes just seconds to load.
Say you write a few Patterns and Songs, when you go to SAVE to USB drive you SAVE "without samples" this will make saving much, much faster. Samples are huge in size 400mb... You have your .n2.X3A backup (keep it in a safe place) The Motif XF will give an additional suffix .n2.X3A when it includes both Waveforms and Samples for FL1

All other files you SAVE will be .n3.X3A (without samples) and which will be much smaller (quicker)

The Motif XF will give a file the additional suffix .n3.X3A when it includes no sample data for either Flash Board
