I don't expect Yamaha to give us more OS updates on the Montage & I am quite happy/content with what I can already do on it; however I am hopeful that they will be giving us more, and there are a few ideas for new features that I'd most like to see added if they do.
I have already had this Ideascale idea accepted, added to the Montage/MODX in OS Update 3.0/2.0 & marked as 'COMPLETE' on Ideascale:
Add [KBD CTRL] to SCENE Mixing! (Montage/MODX)

... as we now have this functionality & I think a lot of people are using it.
Yamaha also added enhancements to help try & fix my other idea I have on Ideascale, which is:
Montage/MODX Pitch Bend micro Stepping-like Sound - Not 'Smooth'...
*So, these are my top four ideas that I'd most like to have 'Up Voted' on IdeaScale, and ultimately added as new features in a future OS update:
1. Add Element ON/OFF Switch Control to 'SCENES'

I think the first of the four would be the easiest for them to implement technically, as it is much like the KBD CTRL idea that they have already added to Scenes ... actually #3 is probably the 'easiest' to implement... 😉
I've also seen various versions of the second idea & upvoted them all on IdeaScale ... if you would like to see any of these ideas listed above in a future update, please go on Ideascale and 'Up Vote' them!

Yamaha hire an extremely knowledgeable, forward thinking, creative, charismatic and public facing product manager for all synthesis tools requiring a Yamaha OS and programmers.
Empowerment of this individual should be sufficient to enable them auteur level leadership to realise their visions and ideals, even/especially if this means replacing and/or hiring new engineers.
At this point, this is the only way to significantly reinvigorate Yamaha's software development.

At least a 4 track Step Sequencer that can be used to create user arps (with all four of the tracks if they meet the 16 pitches requirement) and able to populate targeted parts of Pattern Sequencer Scenes, and be alternatively used to playback as standalone sequences, and to drive arpeggios on up to four targeted parts of a performance.
