Before I "upgraded" to version 2.51 of the MODX system, I could have Logic Pro X running on my laptop, and I could - heavens! - play something on the MODX. Now, when I start playing on the MODX8, I can hear some keys - but others, starting at A5, start messing with Logic Pro X, deleting tracks etc.
I believe this is part of the new DAW integration. I don't want it, but I can't see anywhere how I can turn it off, either in Logic Pro or on the MODX. I'd love it if people could help - until then, I need to downgrade back to 2.50 just so I can get some work done.

That may be the reason I'm having such a tough time getting my MODX 8 to work in Logic! It's a REAL PAIN!!!!!

This is due to a MIDI routing error. This now occurs because of USB-MIDI Port #2 now being used for DAW REMOTE CONTROL. This Remote Control function was added in Version 2.51 Therefore, you must verify the MIDI Port setup because previously Port 2 was not used. Even though you may not yet be using a Remote mode, the MIDI Port exists now, and in this case you want to only allow Remote Control commands to traverse Port 2.
The MODX communicates via USB on three separate MIDI Ports
Port 1 is for musical performing... note-ons, controllers, tempo etc.
Port 2 is for DAW Remote Control commands (Implemented in firmware 2.5)
Port 3 is for connecting an external device via the 5-pin MIDI jacks on the MODX back panel (when MIDI I/O = USB the 5-pin jacks allow an external device to send data thru the MODX to the computer, and data route from Logic Pro on Port 3 will trigger the external device)
Symptoms: When data from Port 1 and Port 2 get mixed, you may have front panel buttons triggering notes, you may have notes operating screens in your DAW... This can be straightened out by properly setting up the Remote Control Surface function. Put plainly, you want to ensure only proper MIDI controllers are allowed to reach you MIDI Tracks, and all commands for Remote Control Surface commands remain discreetly isolated on Port 2.
You must ensure that only Port 1 (and perhaps Port 3, an external controller) should be allowed to be routed to Logic Pro MIDI Tracks. And you must ensure that only Port 2 is used for REMOTE CONTROL messages.
