Help with thirdy party expression pedal

Hey guys, just bought my MODX7 and trying to use my Nektar Expression pedal with it, but no success... By the first time, looks that nektar didn't get all the MIDI region (Should be about 0-127 but actually is between 80-127)

Do you guys know if it's possible to chance this range on MODX or I really need the FC7 pedal

You cannot change the MODX to fit the pedal. The expected impedance range and rate of change (log vs linear - MODX expects log) is a fixed setting without any means to modify.

I don't know which pedal you have. The NX-P has a sensitivity POT (adjustment).

Another user has reported success with the Nektar NX-P. That doesn't necessarily mean success will be universal. Just a data point.

The NX-P has a polarity adjust but as far as I can test, my option 1 is the best and still have the same issue

The polarity switch is not what I was alluding to. Yes, on the bottom of the pedal is a switch. If you look on the left side of the pedal - under the plate where your foot goes - and in the middle (middle between your toes and heel - still on the left side) is a grey "knob". That's the sensitivity adjustment.

Oh God, I was thinking that this was a weight adjustment (facepalm here).... Well, now it goes from 0 to 114.... not unitl 127 but this should be better than nothing.... Thanks a lot Jason

Please, do yourself, and your music, a favor... get a genuine Yamaha FC7 sweep pedal.

When you are using the FC7 to control the Super Knob... often pitch control is assigned... where moving the control from minimum to maximum sweeps the pitch a specific number of Octaves. In order for this to be in tune, and have the desired effect on your listeners, you need to go 0 through 127 with your pedal.

If your pedal only sweeps 0 - 114, the audience will be looking at you waiting for you to resolve to the tonic... they can get quite angry with you if you don’t resolve to the tonic. It leaves them up in the air!!

I contend it is not better than nothing! lol
Just saying - just remember, that for some things it might be okay, but you should be seeking to get an FC7 — because you KNOW it’s the right thing for your music.

You're likely not getting the full 0-127 range with your Nektar pedal because the potentiometer inside is a different value (FC-7 uses a 50K pot-the user's manual, downloadable from Yamaha's site, shows the value and connections). You could try changing it out but that's likely more trouble than it's worth (in my opinion anyway) so I'd go with Bad Mister's advice and pick up a FC-7.

I also use Nektar NX-P. My one goes from 0 to 125.
The measured resistance at position 125 is Hot - Cold 1.063K, Cold-Ground 12.03K.
Hot-G resistance is fixed at 10.9K at any position.
I would like to see the schematics of FC-7. It should have internal trim pot, I guess.
I'm sure we can fix it just adding one or two resistors serial and/or parallel (Trim pot is better to avoid overshoot)
10-20min job, I guess.
I'm OK with mine, so I would not do it now.
If I fix it, I'll let you guys know how to do.
