Can anyone recommend the Montage libraries put out by Easy Sounds?

I'm especially intrigued by the "Live Organ" library that uses the Super Knob to morph between fast and slow Leslie.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

I bought a couple of Easy Sounds libraries for my Motif XF and I definitely can recommend them. When I get my Montage I will load them onto it.

Just bought the Phat Analog/Live Instruments and Chill libraries for my Montage yesterday...all 3 are quite good and well worth the price..being a teen keyboard player in the mid 70s the Phat Analog to me is the best of the 3..amazing lead sounds (jan Hammer,Steve Winwood,Chick Corea etc..these are the best i've ever heard.. also alot of phat analog synth sounds/pads/moog bass,etc..

I noticed that these are advertised as "NEW" but then it says they were originally designed for the Motif. There are hundreds of sounds and FMX possibilities to wade through in stock content on the Montage. I looked over these performance lists in these Easy Sounds and really how much are these going to add to the Montage? The strings and brass, pianos, EPs etc. won't touch the Montage level of quality. I'm not going to purchase these only after hearing a very few demos and then thinking they are going to add very little to Montage capabilities. Could be wrong but I really couldn't convince myself to buy any of them. Mainly they seem to compliment the lacking of the Motif and not the Montage.

I've bought most of the sound sets for my Motif XS (which I am keeping) and I'm not keen on paying out more than the original price again to have them for my Montage. I think they should be at least 1/2 price for those who already have them.
I've already converted the voices from one of the sound sets to XF format with the XF Editor and loaded them into the Montage but you can't convert the performances.

First I should introduce myself - if needed.
I am a member of the Yamaha Voicing Team since decades. My biggest job was the participation in the MONTAGE Voicing project for the last two years.
Also for decades I run my own shop Download Shop EASY SOUNDS.

I would like to give some more informations about the MONTAGE soundlibraries produced by EASY SOUNDS.

As you surely know in the meantime you can import MOTIF XF files to Yamaha MONTAGE. The User Voices, User Arpeggios and User Waveforms as well as all Samples will be converted automatically with loading. However, it is not possible to load the MOTIF Performances to MONTAGE.

We are working hard since several month producing optimized versions of our popular MOTIF soundlibraries including manually converted and extended Performances, which are using also the new features of MONTAGE. The new versions will therefore be at a significantly higher level than the existing MOTIF versions.I have learned from many customer feedback that the inspiring performances were an important sales point for buying the MOTIF soundset.

Of course It is your decision if you want to use existing MOTIF XF All-Files and limit to use Voices or if you want to use the optimized full versions including the manually converted Performances.

The MONTAGE Multi Part Performances are using the first area of the User bank. They are corresponding to the MOTIF Performances.
The next area of the User bank is used for the Single Part Performances, which are corresponding to the MOTIF Voices.

The new MONTAGE features were used in the Multi Part Performances that the familiar sound of the MOTIF Performances is available using the Scenes 1 – 5 and the Super Knob default position. Using the Scenes 6 - 8 (if available) and moving the Super Knob the additional MONTAGE Parts will be activated in many Performances Then the new features like new Preset Waveforms, FM-X, Motion Control or other modulations will be available in the sound.

Here you find a list of the most important advantages of using the optimized MONTAGE versions instead of simply importing the MOTIF XF All-files:

Careful manually converted MOTIF Performances to optimized MONTAGE Multi Part Performances.

Many of the Multi Part Performances are extened up to 8 parts.

Using new MONTAGE features like FM-X, new AWM2 waveforms and Motion Control.

Multi Part Performances are using up to 8 Scenes, which are switching between different Arpeggios of each Performance part.

    Optimized Performances Mixings.

All Multi Part und Single Part Performances are using Super Knob assignments.

The provided MONTAGE files are including only the Multi Part und Single Part Performances of the soundlibrary, no copies of MOTIF presets. If you import a MOTIF XF All-File to MONTAGE, allways all 4 User Voice banks resulting in totally 512 converted Performances will be loaded. The selction using CATEGORY SEARCH might be heavy.

The flags (AWM2 / FM-X, MC) and categories are set new in the Performances, which allows a comfortable selection with CATEGORY SEARCH.

Some User Waveforms and Samples are tweaked and optimized for fixing conversion problems.

Please check the Multi Part Performance demos in our shop for getting an impression of the new versions.

Also the videos of our Youtube Channel "motifnews" might be interesting. "Phat Analog" is the first MONTAGE video. The next video "Nature of Chill" will be added today or tomorrow.

If you have purchased already the MOTIF version of more than one of the available MONTAGE sound sets you can contact me for an individual upgrade agreement.

Thank you Peter.
You have made an Huge work to convert the sounds banks in Montage performances and it sounds GREAT, the multipart performances have a new dimension by adding the Montage features and sound better than in the Motif XF.
At the last meeting i have give an example by lauching the Xtasyn demo song, everybody enjoy the sounds and demo.

Nice that an upgrade agreement can be done by email contact, great news.

I've tried to log in to Paypal to make an Easy Sounds purchase and all I'm getting is a message that says "sign-in is not possible with this data". I'm in the US. My info. is correct.

Update: Once I went the long way around from the cart then it worked correctly.

The video to "Nature of Chill" is online now:

This video has a personal character, because the used pictures and movies were recorded in the region where I live.
It is the Nature reserve "Boberger Niederung" in Hamburg (Germany).
Corresponding to the electronic image of the soundlibrary the pictures and movies are less or more strongly distorted.

The Montage Easy Sound libraries are superb.

I have also found Peter Krischker to be very responsive.

Highly recommended!

PS - if you're not aware of the Music Production Guides that Peter produces, you are missing out. They are free and a very valuable resource.

I have now downloaded both Phat Analogue and Nature of Chill - I am completely blown away by these sound sets, I had them previously for my Motif XS and thought they were brilliant but these for the Montage has taken them to another level. The guys have done a great job and I recommend every Montage owner to get them. The only downside is that I am now going to lose what is left of the weekend playing with them

Thanks for all the great feedback.

Just a small issue:
I had to make a small update of the MONTAGE versions of Nature of Chill and Phat Analog, because there were problems in case of a few voices. If voices are using assignments of user arps, which are no more available, the error message "No Data" appears if you try to import them.
Now we removed the useless user arpeggio assignments and uploaded a new version.
If you purchased the products before June 22 you should repeat the download, which should be still available. If not please send me a mail.

Just to let you know that EasySounds currently have a sale on until 10 Sep - 25% off!!
If you live outside of Europe the discount applies to the price less VAT.
ie XF Nature of Chill @ 39.99 was 24.58 after discount.

Yamaha MusicSoft can only offer 10% off at the moment as they also have a sale....

Hello to all - last night I abandoned various efforts at creating my own sounds, for a change, and went through the 'Strings' Bank on the Montage. To say I'm impressed is the understatement of the year. Even with my less-than-perfect Alesis M1 speakers - which I also use with my trusty old Korg M3 through a mixer. Direct comparisons were absorbing and indeterminate, but the tweaking possibilities of the Montage (I have barely scratched the surface there) put it ahead. Endless! So I wondered about Easy Sounds having a place in there? Peter K's erudite post has swayed me to consider trying them out - I am interested to see what others can do, as opposed to my own amateur efforts. I shall therefore blame you lot for the state of my Bank balance ...
