From the Montage FAQ

"MONTAGE has Sampling function?
No. But MONTAGE can load wav file."

Does it essentially mean that you can load just one WAV file that is used throughout an AMW2 element, or is keybank editing (with key/velocity ranges) still available allowing to create a multisample?

P.S. I know I can always use multiple AWM2 elements to create key/velocity ranges, but I'm asking about MULTISAMPLES specifically.

Hopefully Yamaha will make a Waveform Editor Application for the Montage. So we can assemble our own Waveform (MultiSample) using our own custom .WAV files, and have them stored in the FlashROM.

Another option is to see John Melas offer a Waveform Editor Application for the Montage, just like they did for the Motif XF and XS.

Here is a link to the John Melas website : John Melas Motif XS and XF Waveform Editor

I think it is very odd that Yamaha/Steinberg did not make the XF/XS waveform Editors. but rather a third-party company (John Melas) did.

We shall see what happens this time around for the Montage.

Sampling is the most important function that everyone needs to custom their sounds that Yamaha does not make it. I am consider to buy a Montage if it has a sampling function so that I can custom my sounds

Thanks

Hello Tho.
I believe and heard many users saying that the Montage is able to load Motif XF/XS Sounds not sure if the format is X3V or not.

Montage can load Wav file and arrange it in multisamples....montage can not sample and can not be able to edit loop point and sample start.

The question is what is missing for you in John's Motif XF waveform editor? I once bought it for my MOXF. It is the Motif XF editor but it works fine for all Motifs, and also the MOXF. And now it works fine for the Montage. At least I did not have any problem with it. The updates are usually free and it is not that expensive. So if you need it now just get it. Unless someone knows something which does not work for the Montage, which is important for you.
