Anybody else having issue with this DAW? I hope Yamaha will provide a tutorial forum for newbies.

Hi William,

Cubase LE comes included with hardware products made by many different companies. Examples include Tascam, Alesis, Zoom, etc. For technical support on Cubase LE 7, I recommend contacting the hardware company that your copy of Cubase LE7 came with. The Steinberg site goes into a little more detail if you click here.

There is also an online user forum for Cubase LE and Cubase AI users here:

Good luck.

You should be booting up using Cubase AI7, not LE7.

LE7 comes with non-Yamaha products as a light version of Cubase. If you were to compare the features of LE7 versus AI7 you would not bother attempting to make LE7 work. It is missing all the ADVANCED INTEGRATION that Yamaha includes in the AI7 version that ships with all Yamaha products that ship with Cubase.

AI7 is for Yamaha customers and although it is a light edition of Cubase as well, it includes many more features than the LE7 version.

AI7 allows you to setup advanced VSTi routing so that you can setup your MOXF as a virtual instrument, process it with software plug-ins, use "Freeze" and "Export Audio Mixdown" - this means you can take advantage of recording audio and MIDI to Cubase via USB with a more advanced routing protocol.
Unfortunately, LE7 does not allow you this capability, at all.

Please when you launch Cubase, select to use AI7, not LE7, (there is no advantage to using the LE version, at all). AI7 came with your Yamaha purchase - we are assuming you have a MOXF since you posted in this forum.

Install Cubase AI7 along with the MOXF REMOTE TOOLS (download) will automatically setup your PORTS when you install both items.

Let us know. There will be no tutorial here for Cubase LE, sorry. But plenty of tutorials for both Windows and Macintosh setups for Cubase AI - starting here:

Thanks to all that responded. The information is very helpful. Since I am home now and I can actually see I have Cubase LE AI Element 7 (7.07 64 bit) running on my windows 8.1 computer. This was the prepackaged software that came with my MOXF6. I am a big Yamaha Synth fan & will make this work. Thanks to all again. 🙂
