Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I would like to record the 4 Performance tracks from my MOXF 8 onto individual tracks on my Cubase LE. I saw an article on this website which shows how to record one of the tracks from performance onto a seperate track and rest of the 3 parts merged into one track. But I want to record individual 4 parts from Performance onto 4 tracks on Cubase LE, please let me know if this possible.

Looks like I should record the performance to a pattern or a song and then move them over to cubase, is this the way I should do it? Or is there another way where I could record each part of the performance to individual tracks on cubase?

By far this is the easiest way to do so, you don’t have to worry about setting MIDI Transmit channel, you don’t have to worry about sync’ing clocks, you don’t have to worry about which Parts you are playing directly and which Parts are under control of an Arpeggiator.

You just call up the Performance... engage the Direct Performance Record feature... and play...
Save the data from the MOXF Sequencer as a .mid File to a USB stick, shuttle over to your computer..
Open Cubase... go to FILE > IMPORT MIDI File... (or simply drag n drop it into an Empty Cubase Project at Measure 1.

Direct Performance Record will do all the heavy lifting... it will assign each Part to its own Track and Channel, it will copy the Performance to the Song or Pattern, it will reassign each Part to the matching Track and Channel all automatically.

When you open the .mid File in Cubase, the Tracks will all trigger the correct Part....
