Could you recommend a way to assess the latency involved when sequencing a CP4 by the Motif XF sequencer?

In my scenario the XF sequencer is recording the MIDI performance that I play on the CP4 keys, triggering the CP4 sound. And then, the XF sequencer plays back that MIDI sequence, triggering the CP4 sounds.

I figure there are two main parts that have latency.
1. The delay between [CP4 Key press/CP4 sound heard] and [XF Sequencer's capture] of the CP4's MIDI out.
2. The delay between [XF Sequencer playback] of the MIDI track and the [CP4's receipt/CP4 sound heard].

Even though a computer is not involved in this sequencing scenario, I would gladly use one for measurements.

Thank you.

Not sure what you are looking to do... Or any setup that would give you an accurate measurement, but adding a computer in the mix would only add its own latency...

Hi. Here's another way to describe what I'm after.
- Imagine Motif XF Sequencer and CP4 are MIDI connected, bi-directionally. CP4 OUT -> XF IN, XF OUT -> CP4 IN. And then configured so that the XF can sequence the CP4. The following will be done to the Sequencer's Click.
- Imagine I press record on XF Sequencer, then play quarter notes to the XF's click, playing a CP4 key, then press stop on the XF sequencer. Then press play on the sequencer.
- Imagine I am satisfied with my sense of timing, and I don't want to quantize.

I am trying to account for the latencies part of this scenario, other than my own. So, to that end, I am trying to figure out how to assess the following two parts of this scenario.

1. The time between [pressing a key/hearing sound on the CP4] and the location the [Motif XF Sequencer] places it.

2. The time it takes for [Motif XF Sequencer] MIDI instruction for a pitch to sound and when that sound is heard coming from the CP4.

---
In this scenario above, there is no computer. ... I will use a computer if you think it helps for assessment. Which it may. And I'm willing to use.

Thank you.

I am sorry to be convoluted.
