Is there a document for the Montage/Motif that details the different articulations that some of the deeper programmed voices/performances have? For example, I've gone through 30 guitar and bass patches and have found some common articulations programmed on the switches/sliders but when you start adding velocity/key switches it can be difficult to find that perfect slap/slide down if it's only on keys A6 - B6 at velocity 126 - 127. Help!

Yes, each Part has a screen that will show you an overview of the Velocity and Note Ranges.

Example above of the Element mapping within a MEGA GTR... the “All” Element view shows the mapping.
The screen will also show which Element is being accessed - the Elem1-Elem7 above are active, the little activity radio button will flash green when an Element is accessed.

Press [PART SELECT X] to select the Part in question
In the screen touch “All” to view all Elements together
Touch “Osc”

When multiple “guitar sound effects” are with the same Element, the only real way to see which Key was pressed is to record the MIDI events.

Got it. I was thinking there was a doc somewhere that had "suggested performance notes" or a description of variations...something I could go through when I'm not at the instrument. Thanks for the quick response.

No, not that I know of... times when you are not at the instrument actually don’t count 🙂
When you are at the instrument you can immediately create the data as you require, you can test it, even change the ranges to meet your data. It’s in the instrument... if you want to read it when away from the instrument write them down.

In the synthesizer this kind of thing is completely user programmable, so the information is there for you view, edit and store.
