Hello, i use the ud bt01 with a wind controller (an akai ewi usb) and i have noticed that the ud bt 101 doesn't send correctly the CC64 midi message, it sends the on message but not the off message tested on iPad and mac

From what device did you send the Sustain On / Sustain Off message? It is not clear from your post. Can you give more details, this has not been our finding. How are you sending the message? I’m sure you don’t mean it doesn’t Send that message, no, it doesn’t! It should however pass that message thru to the Tone Generator. It is your device that must “Send” (create) the messages. Not understanding anything about your wind controller, can you please describe how it Sends a Sustain On/Off message? Thanks.

Hello, i send the sustain message with my akai ewi usb, i have mapped the cc64 message on the pitchbend down plate (using ewi software)
when my ewi is connected to my iPad or mac with an usb cable everything works correctly, when i touch the plate i got sustain notes and when i release the sustain stops. When i use my ud bt101 to connect either my mac and iPad, i have a different result, when i touch the pitchbend plate i got sustain but when i release the plate the note still sustains. kind a midi stuck

Sorry, you’ll need to explain that a bit better.... I’m not at all familiar with Sustain from a wind controller (other than by continuing breath pressure)... You are sending Pitch Bend and Sustain from the same controller? Since I personally have never done this I’m depending on your description.

When connected to the iPad or Mac (neither of which, afaik, respond to Pitch Bend or Sustain on their own) do you mean you are triggering some other tone generators running in the iPad or Mac. If so that would be worthy of reporting... what I would want to know is which tone module it is and then look for what is different about that setup.

Because Sustain On and Sustain Off work quite well under normal circumstances — by “normal” I’m mean when a Sustain pedal is engaged and disengaged on a keyboard controller. I cannot help but think it is in some still unmentioned detail of your configuration.

Sustain cc64 values 0-63 will qualify as Off
Sustain cc64 values 64-127 will qualify as On

I’m not familiar with how Pitch Bend works on your device but if it is a return to center Type Controller (like on a keyboard the PB Wheel automatically (spring loaded) returns to Center — what value cc is sent by Center? If it’s 64 that’s why... just a guess.
PB sends value +0000 when at Center; -8192 when at minimum; +8191 when at maximum. If you use this to send cc messages which go from 0-127 — PB’s zero is different from CC’s zero.
Also is the Tone Generator receiving the remapped controller ‘post’ the computer...?
Does the PB Control work in the absence of Note-On events?
