Unable to change the instrument at first startup of MX49

I just got the MX49BK today. It is stuck at concert grand - none of the buttons work. The synth plays the concert grand but that is it. How do I change the instrument?

I tried to quick reset - again nothing responds.

Factory reset - none of the buttons respond.

The performance number display is blank at startup, it shows no number.

Sorry, you are having issues with you Yamaha MX49BK.

Make sure you are connecting the instrument with the appropriate PA150 (Power Adapter) for region of the world.

When first powering on the MX49BK
Press and light the [SELECT] button
Program 001 "MX Category" should appear
Press the [SELECT] button turning its light OFF

The screen should read CONCERT GRAND on top and AMB PIZZA on the bottom.
The cursor up and down should allow you to move between those two sounds.

If your instrument shows no number, and gives no response, and you are using the Yamaha power supply (very important) contact your dealer immediately.
