I bought a used MODX8 last year, and at some point (exact date I can't recall) the system output stopped working properly. By that I mean the stereo signal that is sent to both the L/R and headphone physical outputs is sending the left signal at a set level constantly, regardless of the master volume knob, while the right signal is controlled by the knob. Even at full, the right doesn't output as much as L. I thought this was an issue with either the outputs, the cables, interface, mixer or speakers, but after eliminating all of those possibilities, I noticed the same behaviour in the headphones, mirroring what happens with the L/R outputs (which also eliminates the possibility of left only sending mono). I've checked the board and the manual, factory reseted it, updated firmware, double checked everything. There has to be something wrong with either a connection or some digital component/setting that's outside of the "brain" of the board, but before the physical outputs.
Has anybody had this experience that can help me out? I guess I probably have to open it up, but what to look for and what to fix, I have absolutely no clue. I'm currently in another city until summer, so can't actually open it before then, but all the info I can get until that is very welcome
