Thanks Jason for having pointed out... As a non English speaking person I encountered some issues trying to understand in full the meaning of "Backline" term.
I realized that the article contains a series of good advices that prevent Montage owners to find themselves ready for any evenience.

Therefore, I went into the article thinking it would describe items which directly applied to either using a rented Montage (like bring in your X7A backup on USB so it contains all your libraries/settings/etc -- which the article does cover) or using your Montage in a live setting using other backline equipment such as monitors, mixers, and dealing with the backline techs (folks who run the sound).

There's some of that, but things like how to setup the superknob or how to setup scenes do not seem directly related.

I guess if you take the position that the article is addressing those who never touched a Montage and the backline keyboard "thrown at them" is a Montage - then the title applies 100%.

No guesses necessary... backline = rental
If you specify a Motif while on the road, (it’s toured the world many times in the last seventeen years with some of the top acts on the planet), you will find less and less Motif’s out there (it’s been discontinued, 2016)... the hipper backline operations now have MONTAGE. All the sounds you know and love from the Motif series are either already in MONTAGE, or can be loaded to MONTAGE.

And while MONTAGE is a new breed, 100% of what you learned from Motif will apply in MONTAGE. And while you’re certainly on a new synth if you were expecting a Motif, you should be able to orient yourself quickly enough.

if you read the early reactions to MONTAGE - notice how in the beginning all the focus is on using the Super Knob or avoiding the Super Knob (then later, using the Super Knob) as people love it or hate it, misunderstand it, then get it, then love it but wish it wouldn’t flash when I stop playing, to loving it and then hating it... no one completely ignores it... including how to do something with it seems a no-brainer.

But some will not play what they don’t understand. If you own one, you’ve undoubtedly have explained it to some curious person. An explanation about programming things to the Super Knob, now much easier in 2.00, can make the “comfort zone” happen for a new user ...
