Belkin 800/400 9pin to 6pin 1394a (Mfr. Part Number: F3N404-06-APL)
is now unavailable. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FWCab9-66Bel/
My question is, is this one; (Mfr. Part Number: F3N422yw2M-APL) ... as good or better?
Equipment being connected is iMac (mid 2011) with Firewire port;
iMac 2014 that will be using a Thunderbolt adaptor. http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD464LL/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapter?fnode=90b6e1b38f9755117c2be17597bb9a608f478efb4ce8220ef7a6d562da3a58097ce5cecb4f62258c68e71110ea4b3a298f0f93fa01fd3e89f16e2281a0accb530b69139e9121407ad972fe19b3fd2cd91cdb4ddb22d7ceb20ad18e9ba831839b
Motif XF8 (2014-White) and Motif XF6 (2016-White).
Someone said earlier there may be another choice that’s better.
"As typically one just settles for “good enough” instead of “as great as it can get” :)

The difference may only be cosmetic, or its that one says it is no longer available. It's a data cable. Get two (one as a backup - you should always have a backup, anyways) then in about 10 years, if either one or both have failed, you will know which one is better.

I'm kidding, but really... they both are Belkin, (that's a quality brand) reach out to them. I bet they are as stoked to talk about cables as we are to talk about Motif XF and its computer connectivity! I betcha...
