Features

The sleek new S30 delivers the same highly acclaimed features and sounds of the award-winning S80. It's packed with familiar voices (including stereo-sampled pianos), 64 notes of polyphony, high-quality effects and more. Plus it's compatible with the Yamaha Modular Synthesis Plug-in System, so you can upgrade it with the synthesizer or sound processing plug-in board of your choice. All this power in a compact size that's practical for both the studio and the gig.

- Superb Voices

The S30's 24MB wave memory provides a complete selection of top-quality voices including stunning stereo-sampled acoustic pianos, chunky organs, brilliant guitars, lush strings and more. All the essential voices you need at your fingertips.

- Multi-Mode Filters

The S30`s unique "multi-mode" filters let you assign a combination of filters to any voice. This allows for more dynamic and expressive acoustic voices as well as thicker and more punchy analog synth voices.

- SMF Playback Sequencer

A built-in playback sequencer allows you to play back Standard MIDI Files (format 0). Using a SmartMedia™ card, you can import MIDI files that you've recorded on an external sequencer into the S30 for instant playback at the touch of a button. Chain playback of up to 100 songs is possible-great for live performance.

- Quick Voice Access

The Quick Access function gives you instant access to specific categories of voices such as pianos, organs, guitars and strings. Simply select an instrument type and all related internal voices will be listed for you to browse through.

- PC Serial Port Interface

The built-in To Host serial interface lets you conveniently connect the S30 to a personal computer and take advantage of the wide variety of music software packages available on the market, including Yamaha`s own XGworks sequencer software.

- Arpeggiator

The built-in arpeggiator lets you create inspiring musical phases by simply holding down a chord. A total of 128 preset patterns are included, from the standard Up, Down, and Up & Down patterns to catchy melodies and drum patterns. The arpeggiator features thorough MIDI implementation, allowing you to trigger external tone generators and sync the tempo to an external MIDI sequencer.
