MU15

Main Features

In the wake of the recent release of the all-conquering, top-of-the-range MU128, Yamaha announce the introduction of the pint sized powerhouse MU15 tone module.

Housed in the familiar Yamaha 'VHS'-sized casing, this diminutive module delivers everything you have come to expect from XG at an affordable price. Ideally suited to the laptop PC user who needs a high quality sound source but is unable to install a sound card and for the MIDI beginner in search of an affordable, yet professional, module.

From the battery-powered mobile musician through to the 'front room' electronic piano player in search of extra sounds or inspiration the MU15 can fit easily into your way of working. The MU15 features a full XG sound set and compatibility. 676 instrumental voices and 21 drum kits make this the most powerful module in its price range by a long way.

The two octave front panel keyboard is multi-functional. It acts a both a musical keyboard for mobile playing and also as parameter control for easy voice editing. With its large, custom LCD showing the exact status of the MU15 and its clear, color-coded top panel buttons, operating the MU15 is simple and intuitive. Literally plug-in and go.

The rear panel of the MU15 holds many of the connectors and interfacing switches. MIDI In and MIDI Out, DC input for the optional power supply, power on/off switch and the 'To Host' socket. The To Host socket allows for direct connection to either PC or Macintosh computers, removing the need for additional interfacing hardware. Simply plug in the appropriate lead and connect directly to the Modem/Printer port of a Mac or the serial port on a PC.
