Quick Tips

  1. Make sure that the batteries (if used) in the MU10 are good, as this may cause intermittent MIDI information to be receieved or transmitted to and from your PC/Mac.

  2. Make sure that when you install the drivers for the MU10 to use the host port adapter; that you are not using a com port that may already be tied up to either your mouse or your modem.

  3. Connecting the MU10 to your PC sound card via the optional MDC-01 cable will allow you to use all of it's features without the need to install any additional drivers

  4. Check that the com ports on your PC are fast enough to handle MIDI data. this can be checked by typing 'msd' in DOS and then selecting the com port settings. You should be looking for 16550 or 16450 uart chips. Older ones may be too slow.

  5. Using the com ports for MIDI on slower PC's such as 386 based machines is not generally recommended, please connect your MU10 via the optional MDC-01 cable instead of to your exiting soundcard.

  6. An unofficial full and detailed guide to the MU10 and its cousins, the SW60XG and DB50XG is available from the Software Downloads section of this website.
