Quick Tips

  1. If your CS1x is making no sound, then maybe your have played a midi file with a system exclusive fade out in it. This will drop the master output level of each part on the synth. To remedy this you may wish to just play an XG file for a couple of seconds from the beginning again which will reset the volume levels.

  2. If you cannot hear single performances during playback then you may have the arpeggiator set to midi and active. If this is the case, just set the arpeggiator back to internal clock, or generate an external clock signal from your computer or sequencer.

  3. It is always a good idea when using the CS1x in XG mode to reset the system using an XG reset system exclusive message at the beginning of your sequence track. For continuity on other non XG compatible devices, it may also be a good idea to send out a GM reset before the XG reset (200ms), to completely flush the system and set up a non XG device into GM mode.

  4. The Blue Book Guide (from the Goodies to Download section of this page!) covers many of the features of the CS1x in great detail and is well worth the download. English and German versions are provided, together with sample MIDI files.
