NAMM 2018 brought the release of the MPE specification. The Montage (and Motif, etc) hardware isn't necessarily "built" for this type of gesture as polyphonic aftertouch or keys that "wiggle" (side to side sensor) are a few ways to get this per-key input. However, I was curious if there are any plans to incorporate any portions of the new supplemental MPE spec into Montage.

If not, perhaps with a new standard - future products will have more granular gesture controls at the per-note level.

During the Lifespan of the montage. There will be a Boatload of updates to the Montage.

But. that Said

I think What you are asking for. Would have to be a. Completely New Model of keyboard.
The MPE specification. Does not look like it will, Get Along well with 'Standard Key-Beds'

We will probably see a wave of Cheaper boards come out. And 1-2 expensive ones.
But the Market for MPE. Has to be very strong. To make a 'Flagship'.

I'm not asking FOR anything - just asking about it. I get updates from the MIDI association and received one today (re)announcing the MPE spec. Curiosity was peaked - so just checking if there are any plans to incorporate any portions of the new spec into Montage. Even though ROLI works to a certain extent, ROLI owners may be interested if there are any updates in this area brewing. That's the Montage portion.

Also, it's a chance to see what interest there is in the topic in general to help advise future efforts.

The montage is not stick to his keyboard. An mpe implementation will open montage directly to mpe controller.

I have a fully MPE-capable Roli Rise 25 as part of my rig. I can use full-scale MPE with my Montage by setting up a Performance with the same Part in 15 slots, 2-16 (Channel 1 is used for general control messages.)

But in order for the Rise 25 to communicate with the Montage, there needs to be some sort of MIDI hub for them to connect to. In my case, that’s a PC running Cubase.

Hie, Michael. I like to link geoshred with the montage. What I like in geoshred is the hability of expression with the legato, glide, snap function as it is in a rolli 25.
Did you notice any issue about rolli glide/ slide/ legato function with the montage?

I didn’t notice any issues of that sort. Things work as expected.

Using the ROLI with Cubase makes it easy to record all of the MPE MIDI messages and see what’s going on.
