Since I'm bumping up this thread with a comment - first, Part III has been released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHHIARQ2ZDg

The comment I would like to make is this article shows a tag of "Montage Connect" yet the video series does not employ Montage Connect, nor do I see Montage Connect ever mentioned. Instead, he uses manual methods of recalling Performances by typing in the LSB/MSB/PC into Ableton. I believe the tag for "Montage Connect" should be removed or add a follow-up video (Part IV) of how Montage Connect can be employed to further streamline this process.

I’m pretty sure the video does not show MONTAGE CONNECT because (as far as I know) Ableton Live is not VST3 compatible (I could be wrong) I will investigate. Thanks for the heads up! ... Either way, showing the Bank Select and Program Change methodology is helpful, I would imagine, for some Live users even if they use MONTAGE CONNECT to capture the Performance.

Of course, in a situation where a DAW cannot open MONTAGE CONNECT inside its own environment, CONNECT can be run along side as a separate application. The only real difference is you must save a separate file (.X7B) for CONNECT. We should, perhaps, provide a link to the article on running MONTAGE CONNECT as a standalone.

I’m not an Ableton Live user, but if it does become able to run VST3 plugins in the future, we’ll need to create an updated video. But as far as I know, VST3s still cannot run in Ableton Live. If there is an update, please let us know. As to whether it runs for Mac Users as an AU plugin, I will have to do some research.

I’ll see what I can find out.

Edit} here’s what I found so far:
Ableton Site
Ableton AU or VST
