			PC Drivers for Windows 2000 (8/7/2001) New and improved Windows 2000 driver This version cures the BSOD bug in some cases under Win2K. This driver adds full functionality and support for the SW1000XG under Windows 2000. This driver fixes the MIDI in problem found in earlier beta drivers under Windows 2000, and as we have said the BSOD problem in the last driver build. It fully supports ACPI MULTIPROC mode (multiprocessor support), low latency KS Mixer streaming (as found in Cakewalk SONAR), and all of the benefits that Sonar brings with KMIXER bypass. Latency for playback of Dxi instruments under SONAR is approx 12ms. Also included in this driver update are low latency ASIO 2.0 drivers for Windows 2000. These drivers are intended to support ASIO 2.0 based applications under Windows 2000 such as Steinberg Cubase VST, Steinberg Nuendo, and various other software synths and applications that have full Windows 2000 support for ASIO. The driver is 32bit mode only. ASIO is Steinberg music software's low latency Audio Streaming Input Output system. This driver under ASIO supports multiple devices (SW & DS2416 at the same time) with no device limitation caused by WDM (WDM will restrict the number of audio device ports seen to 10 maximum). Under ASIO and KS Mixer bypass applications (such as SONAR) this device limit (which is an inherent problem in Windows 2000) is bypassed. Please consult your software manual to see if your software supports KS MIXER mode (KMIXER bypass). Please consult your Windows 2000 user manual for details on driver installation and update along with the readme file contained within this download. Please also refer to your ASIO compatible software application manual for details on ASIO installation and support in Windows 2000. 			Yamaha are now progressing with full driver development under XP/Win2K. We have no further plans to expand support under Windows NT. Please not that this driver is the only build Yamaha will provide for support under NT4. Users should migrate to Windows 2000/XP at the earliest opportunity. Beta 1.0 driver for Windows NT4.0 (Service pack 4 or higher recommended). This driver offers full MIDI and audio support for the SW1000XG under Windows NT4. Please also note that XGEDIT95 will run flawlessly under NT, and is the recommended control application Please be fully aware of the implications of using this beta driver, and only post emails relating to issues with its operation, not with the operation of your software under NT. You should also contact your software vendor for the latest info and technical support for NT with the application you are using. Also note that Hubis loopback does not work under NT4. Yamaha recommend that you download Midi Yoke (a similar piping system for NT) from the link below if you wish to pipe XGEdit into another application under NT.

			PC Drivers for Windows 95/98/ME PC MME Driver Build v2.60 This driver should be installed if you plan only to use the SW1000XG with basic MME supporting applications. If you intend to use the SW1000XG with applications that support ASIO/DIRECT X or GSIF please refer to the other drivers in this section. Sixty-four channel multiclient MIDI driver for standard Windows 95/98 applications (non-ASIO). This driver set is only for the SW1000XG. This driver valid contains support for Logic Audio and cures problems in 2.50 with this application. This driver should be used in all Windows 9.x and ME based operating systems, It will not function under Windows 2000 or XP. This driver build contains no support for Direct X compatible applications/ASIO or Gigasampler. PC MME & ASIO Combined Driver Set v2.60 This driver is for people using the SW1000XG with any ASIO compatible application such as Cubase VST/SX/Nuendo or Logic Audio. Please use add/remove programs to remove any previous ASIO driver for SW1000XG, prior to installing this new driver set. To install please update using the MME 2.50 portion first, reboot your PC, and then install the ASIO driver using the SETUP.EXE file. This driver is designed for use with Windows 95/98/ME ASIO compatible software such as VST, Reason, Emagic Logic Audio etc.. It contains both 32bit, and 16 bit asio drivers. It also contains the new 64 channel multiclient MIDI driver code. Version 2.50 cures problems with large sysex bulk dumps, and also reduces the ASIO latency to 28ms for 32bit operation. It also adds an adjustable buffer option to allow latency to be set depending on your system. The new driver also supports better performance for DS2416 & SW1000XG combined systems under 32bit mode, and allows multiple applications that support DS2416 API's to run at the same time. DS2416 owners should also refer to the notes on the DS2416 download site: http://www.yamaha.co.uk/proaudio/technical/download.html PC GIGASAMPLER (GSIF) driver set This driver contains the MME/ASIO and also support for GIGASAMPLER (GSIF) format components. It is the driver you should use if you intend to use the SW1000XG with ASIO applications, or GSIF applications. If you have Nemesys Gigasampler installed on your PC, or any GSIF compatible application, this is the driver you should use. Please use add/remove programs to remove your previous ASIO driver for SW1000XG, prior to installing this new driver set, and please read carefully the readme.txt notes. To install please update using the MME/GSIF portion first (as per standard MME update, no special installation is required for Gigasampler support in this release, just use the "update driver" option in control panel/system/sound video & game controllers), reboot your PC, then install the ASIO driver using the SETUP.EXE file. This driver is designed for use with Windows 95/98/ME ASIO compatible software such as VST, Reason, Emagic Logic Audio etc. It is also designed to work with Nemesys Gigasampler/Studio/Le etc. Please refer to the readme notes relating to multiclient operation. The ASIO portion contains both 32bit, and 16 bit asio drivers, the new MME/GSIF audio driver, and also the new 64 channel multiclient MIDI driver code. The ASIO and GSIF latency is 28ms for 32bit operation in ASIO and sub 30ms for Gigasampler. The ASIO portion has an adjustable buffer option to allow latency to be set depending on your system.

			Direct X Driver 3.40 (with ASIO installer) for Windows 95/98/ME This driver is for people who wish to use applications which support Direct X playback. It will also work with Gigasampler, however we recommend that you only use the specific Gigasampler driver listen above for this. This driver also supports ASIO. This driver build is almost the same as the PC MME & ASIO combined driver set, but also includes support for Direct X compatible applications, with low latency support. No Audio capture record port (some applications software such as VST 5.0 will support audio capture via the Direct X ASIO driver, please refer to your VST manual for more details). Not all ports are Direct X supported (please refer to the readme file for more info). The SW1000XG's 6 stereo audio ports do not all work as Direct X ports. Ports 2-5 are still emulated ports. 96KHz playback at 24bit is not supported by hardware but possible by DirectX interpolation. To install the driver and ASIO instance that comes with it, please follow the standard instructions for updating replacing the MME driver found in this section. Please remove all previous ASIO and MME drivers prior to installing this driver.

			MAC Drivers (MACOS9) Macintosh driver v1.05 provides ASIO 2.0 support, and support for multiprocessor Mac systems. This build also cures problems with system freezes when USB keyboards are attached. Supports G3/G4 series Macintosh Mac series and lower. Mac OS 9.0 only or higher (Mac OSX not supported in this release). Mac driver v1.05 supports the Sawtooth G4 (And Dual processor models) along with the B&W G3 (plus support for older G3 machines) under Mac OS 9.0 (we do not support the driver under Mac OS 8.6). Version 1.052 cures a few minor anomalies found with the 1.051 firmware update, including a bug with reset all parameters (this problem did not affect version 1.050).
