How to check the version of your MOTIF-RACK XS
1. Turn on the MOTIF-RACK XS.
2. Enter DEMO mode with push [EDIT] + [UTILITY].
3. Press [AUDITION] more than 2 seconds, then current version is shown on display.
"Firmware Version 1.xx.x"
This updater is for less than Version 1.02.1

Required Operating Environments
The following operating environments are required to run the update correctly.
- Yamaha USB-MIDI driver *IEEE1394 and MIDI port are not accepted.

- Cubase AI 4 software bundled with MOTIF-RACK XS.		 Caution
This updater is only for the MOTIF-RACK XS.
This software update is applied entirely at the user's own risk.
All of the User data are initialized when updating, please back up the data you need before updating.

There are two way to backup.
1:Using Studio Manager and MOTIF-RACK XS Editor software.

2:Record Bulk Dump Data to MIDI sequencer.
Please read "Bulk Dump" section in owner's manual.

This update need about 3hours.

If, by any chance, an accident should occur during the update process, such as a power failure or a mistake in the update procedure, the unit may not function properly afterwards. If such problems do occur, please retry the updater again from the beginning. Should the unit not function after reapplying the update, please contact the Yamaha service centre in your area.

MOTIF-RACK XS Editor V 1.1.0 requires Studio Manager 2.3.0 or higher.

This driver requires MOTIF XS6, MOTIF XS7 and MOTIF-RACK XS to install mLAN16E2.
It enables you to connect a single n8, n12 or mLAN16E2 to a computer and transfer audio/MIDI signals via an IEEE1394 cable.

"Extensions for Steinberg DAW" is a set of program plug-ins and project templates developed by Yamaha to enhance the functions of Steinberg DAW software. Simply by installing Extensions for Steinberg DAW and connecting the MOTIF-RACK XS (mLAN16E required) to your computer via an IEEE1394 cable, you can take advantage of various features which enable you to link Cubase (the Steinberg DAW) with the MOTIF-RACK XS.  Simply by installing Extensions for Steinberg DAW, you can utilize the following features when combining Cubase 4 / Cubase Studio 4 / Cubase AI4 with the MOTIF-RACK XS .

The mLAN Tools/mLAN Driver is for network connection. When You connect one MOTIF XS8 (or mLAN16E2) to a computer, it is not necessary to use mLAN Driver. In this case we recommend to use AI Driver.
