Yes folks, Gary Gregson, King of the Coders has done it again. Not content with unleashing the power for XG with the awesome XGedit, Gary has now turned his almost god-like programming skills to the AN1x. AN1x edit offers awesome features such as copy & paste of individual parameters between voices, save to Cakewalk .SYX files, standard MIDI file and native file handling. It also allows loading of Macintosh voices saved using the free MAC editor (just rename the file extension to .AN1 on the Mac, and don't forget to save the file to a DOS floppy), and many many more killer features. With a fantastic help file (don't call us... just read the help file!), this is the bext editor on the market by a light year and it's FREE! Gary Gregson (We don't hold any truth in the rumour that he was trained as a Jedi Knight before he took this job!) has an excellent home page, well worth a look! Running under Win95 and Windows NT4.0, AN1xEdit offers features that not even the keyboard can do on its own, such as preset shapes for the FREE EG function, and much much more. In keeping with our policy of making things better, Yamaha have now released the Mac version of Gary Gregson's AN1xedit. This editor is more in keeping with the spirit of the An1x is terms of look and feel, and offers a wealth of features that the previous Mac editor did not have. This editor also supports OMS and Freemidi, and is fully functional under MACOS8 and above (also fully functional in MacOS 7.5 and above). New tweaks include an intelligent Randomizer which can be set to your own thresholds for various parameters to yield 'subtle tweaks' right through to 'total madness'. As mentioned in previous releases from Gary, Yamaha UK were convinced that he was trained as a Jedi Knight in a previous existence (when you see how fast this guy can code you wonder if The Force is with him). When you realise that this port to the Mac, to the stage of getting it working and running and rock solid stable took under 2 hours, you begin to get the picture of just how good a coder he is! Consequently, we have now revised our thoughts and from now on Gary will be known as 'Yoda' (He is The Master). Gary is not however 3 feet tall with Fozzie Bear's vocal characteristics!
